Maoist rebels have battled government forces for more than a decade in Nepal. Thousands have been killed or abducted by both rebels and government security forces.

Many of them, including those `disappeared' by the security forces are still missing. Under the terms of its ceasefire with the Maoists, the Nepali government has agreed to reveal their whereabouts.

Families of the disappeared have mounted a campaign to pressurise the government into launching an investigation. Kamala Bishwokarma last saw her husband, a Maoist sympathiser, in 2001.

"स्त्रीहरूसितको बार्तालाबलाई नै गजल भनिन्छ" यदी यो परीभाषालाई मान्ने हो भने हाम्रो बार्तालाब सभ्य हुनुपर्दछ, सिल हुनुपर्दछ, माधुर्य र बिराम हुनु जरुरी छ । कुरामा भाबनात्मक्ता, मादक्ता प्रतिबिम्बित हुनुपर्दछ अनी पो बार्तालाबको मिठास रहन्छ, गजल को मिठास रहन्छ । गजलको दोश्रो अर्थ हरिणको त्यो करुनमय स्वर हो । जब उ शिकारी कुकुरहरूको पन्जामा फसेको हुन्छ त्यो अवस्थामा हरिणको घाँटिबाट यति हृदयबिदारक स्वर निस्कन्छ कि शिकारी कुकुरहरूपनी केही पर हट्न थाल्दछन् । हरिणको त्यो स्वर नैरास्यताको प्रतिकृया हो । असहायताको चारमोत्कर्समा प्राण रक्षाको एक प्रयास हो । साहित्यिक शब्दाबलिमा यसैलाई "गजालुल कल्व" अर्थात हरिणको दर्दनाक स्वर भनिन्छ । थप पढ्नुहोस्
